Bruce has received the endorsements of both the Florida Police Benevolent Association (PBA) and the Fraternal Order of Police (FOP).

As Sheriff, Bruce would endeavor to improve working conditions for employees by seeking career service status for Deputy Sheriffs. Rather than serving solely at the discretion of the Sheriff, career service offers deputies legal standing before a grievance committee in personnel-related matters. To ensure fair and impartial treatment for all employees, Bruce pledges to gain accredited status for the Franklin County Sheriff's Office. Implementation of a set of accepted best practices, policies and procedures would help to raise the level of professionalism of the Office of the Sheriff, resulting in improved service to the community and a heightened sense of employee morale.

Bruce vows to achieve accredited status for the Office of the Sheriff at no additional monetary cost to the citizens of Franklin County.
